O.P.A.S.’ mission is to create a product that meets the needs of today's customers requiring high guarantees on the organoleptic and nutritional qualities of fresh, frozen and processed meat. In O.P.A.S.’ strategy there is a strong synergy between end customer, processor, slaughterhouse and breeder, to enhance the production chain of the pig born, bred and slaughtered in Italy by applying a valorization approach based on the integration of the supply chain "from farm to table". O.P.A.S. exports the excellence of Made in Italy products in the field of the P.D.O. / P.G.I. circuit and exports pork meat certified according to high international standards.
O.P.A.S. is the largest agricultural cooperative in Italy whose main activity is slaughtering pigs and sell pork meat in Italy and internationally. The production plant is in Carpi, covering a total area of about 92,000 square meters with a slaughtering capacity of 480 animals / hour equal to 24,000 pigs processed weekly. Opas represents 12% of Italian pig farming and is able to breed heavy and light pigs by programming and diversifying food chain supplies according to the requests of the commercial distribution. Opas manages the largest number of pork meat food chains in Italy, with constantly growing production volumes.
